Description
Pullman Barista Original: the further development of the popular Nexus series
Barista base handmade in Australia. With ergonomic compression area made of synthetic rubber to minimize fatigue during continuous professional use. TrueTamp rings make consistent tamping easier.
The popular tamper base is available in different sizes; Materials and shapes. What they all have in common is the best workmanship and the use of high-quality materials, the innovative compression zone made of food-safe rubber and much more
With the included set of three spacers 2.5.8 mm, a height adjustment of the tamper of up to 15 mm can be achieved. This enables optimal individual adaptation to the hand of every barista. This means that several baristas with different sized hands can use the same tamper without sacrificing ergonomics: simply remove or add the respective spacer - the barista 'fits'.
Please note that the Barista Base is precision manufactured to tolerances of 50 microns (0.05mm).
The 58.40mm version is suitable for all precision sieves, especially for the sieves of the PullmanFiltration876 series. The 58.00 mm version fits into standard sieves. 54.70mm is suitable for various Dalla Corte models, 53.30mm for Sage machines, for example.

Properties of different materials and shapes:
316 stainless steel
The classic in different sizes. Durable, precisely manufactured, completely food safe and available for every machine. Tip: with the colored replacement cones and spacers from Pullman you can give your tamper a completely different look -
Aluminum bronze
looks similar to brass - but unlike brass, it resists tarnishing and fingerprints, meaning it stays beautiful for longer. It also has almost exactly the same density as stainless steel, ensuring comparable weight and balance specifications to its stainless steel counterpart.
Aluminum Bronze is softer than stainless steel, so it is a little more sensitive and not quite as scratch-resistant, but it has its own aesthetic appeal and is a perfect companion to high-quality brass-plated espresso machines.
Flat vs. Convex
There are many opinions, rumors and prejudices about the advantages and disadvantages of convex tamper bases. We have both in our program. In our opinion, flat tamper bases ('flat') are usually the better choice from a technical point of view; convex tamper bases may make sense when using very small sieves (one-shot). But as I said - opinions differ.
No matter whether you choose flat or convex: you will always receive a top product that is perfectly crafted.
